Cobden is situated in Western Victoria 200
km west of Melbourne. It is about 35 km inland from the south coast. The climate
is cool temperate, averaging 800 mm of rainfall per year. Summers are mild,
averaging 26 maximum and 12 minimum in January and February. Winters are wet and
cooler, though with minimal frost in most locations. Average is 13 maximum and 4
minimum in July and August. Summers are much drier than the winters.
